Story
Hello everyone,
This all started with some news I never thought I'd hear about someone you love a great deal. Back in 2008 mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news was devastating to hear and we couldn't believe it. Luckily the screening was successful and the problem was caught early on.
With a successful operation mum began her cheamoptherapy treatment. The treatment has many horrible side effects, including hair loss, nausea, so on and so forth. Breast cancer care is the charity that provideded care for mum throughout the past year. Providing a wide range of care through online help, 1-2-1's, hospital appointments and many other methods. I've felt terrible being stuck working full time in Bournemouth & not being able to be there for mum. Supporting someone through a mobile phone just isn't good enough.
The idea to run the marathon was suggested to me by Olly and we both agreed to do it immediately. Putting yourself through "pain" is alot easier to do when someone who you care about as much as this has had to deal with breast cancer & the many many surrounding effects.
So it's all been confirmed... Olly and I will be running 26 miles in May. Not for ourselves or any other reason but for the person we both love, mum. This is just a small way of trying to share the pain mum has been put through not just by the cancer itself but the many other things associated.
So since we've decided to run the Edinburgh marathon, I'm sure you wouldn't mind putting your hands into you're pockets for a small donation. Not just for mum or breast cancer care but for the many other people around the world which breast cancer care do so so well taking care of.
Thank you
Ben.
