Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

THE RUNNING TOTAL ABOVE INCLUDES GIFT AID !!

On 14th january 2008 my dad died from cancer.he had many friends through his work at Whitwell Pit, where he stood shoulder to shoulder with his comrades in time of need in the strike. he also made friends at kaymar coatings, unfortunatly not his boss though. This changed when he worked at CLAUSE IV where he worked on alot of GMB union campaigns. he had the upmost respect for collegues and managers alike ,a trust and a friendship that lasted even past him passing away.he also worked for THE WORKERS BEER COMPANY at festivals like GLASTONBURY,READING AND LATTITUDE to name a few, where his character shone through.he made many friends and there are many stories that could be told. This could also be said by his friends and drinking buddies at the jackups, however probably with a sluurrrr.Benji was a very hard working man who worked all hours day and night to provide for his family who he loved dearly especially his wife Jane and grandkids Bethany,Charly and Logan..Thank you to everyone of his family friends and collegues for your love support and kindness through the tough times from benji and our whole family!!!!!He used the services offered from ashgate hospice firstly at home, then was admitted a week before he passed away.the support he and our whole family recieved was nothing short of excellent. However without our support this hospice wont be there for the next patients that could need there services, they could be our family or friends left to suffer ,we cant EVER let this place close.

It costs £100 a night for an inpatient, any donation, no matter how big or small makes a huge difference.  OUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED TO KEEP THIS FANTASTIC CHARITY ALIVE!!!!

Remember the sad fact is that cancer can get hold of anyone!!!!
