REMEMBERING BERNARD. 10 YEARS ON.
We lost my Son Bernard in 2012, exactly one month short of his 17th birthday.Apparently fit and well, Bernard just collapsed, while doing what he loved.Playing football!.Suddenly, like flipping a switch, you were gone!.I walk to raise funds in support of the work that C-R-Y does in order to forestall needless and avoidable deaths in young and apparently fit people as Bernard was.Research and heart screenings will detect latent and potentially dangerous heart conditions and ensure early intervention.I also do this as a personal memorial to my Son on what should have been his 27th birthday this June.I aim to raise £400 to support this work and hopefully spare even one family the anguish that mine was thrown into.Sail on now, my Silver bird to enjoy the peace that was so elusive on these shores. Please support me by donating to CRY, CARDIAC RISK in the YOUNG, in BERNARD’S name.Gone from my presence, but never far away! Evergreen, darling, your memories will never dim.In my heart, forever and ever.Remembered fondly by all of us.REST IN PEACE NOW. Mum.
