The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and to keep grieving families supported. We fund life-saving research, empower families with expert baby safety advice and support grieving families through their darkest days. We won’t give up until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Story

On April 26th 2000, My parents' beautiful first born baby, Maisy, died unexpectedly and suddenly in the night. She was just 10 weeks old. Maisy had died of sudden infant death syndrome.

As a family we have always celebrated Maisy's birthday and on the anniversary of her death, my parents struggle through what is always the worst day of their year. This year, on what will be the 26th anniversary of Maisy's death, my mum and sister are going to run the London Marathon to raise money for the Lullaby Trust and just two weeks before, I will be running my first Half Marathon to also raise money for the Lullaby Trust.

The Lullaby Trust is a charity that saves babies' lives and supports bereaved families. Around 3 babies a week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), The Lullaby Trust is committed to bringing that number down to zero.

Maisy's life and death changed our lives immeasurably. We think about her - and what sort of person she would have grown up to be. Maisy has taught all of us how to appreciate every single moment of every day.

We will be raising awareness and funds that will be helping grieving families to receive specialist help, funding research to prevent more babies from dying suddenly and unexpectedly, and allowing more parents to receive advice on safer baby sleep.

Every week in the UK, nine babies die suddenly and unexpectedly. The Lullaby Trust's expert advice and research has empowered families for decades, saving over 30,000 babies’ lives. But we won't stop until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Your support will give babies a safer start to life, and support grieving families through their darkest days. Together we will be there for every baby. For every family. Forever.
