On April 26th 2000, Emma's beautiful and perfect first born baby, Maisy, died unexpectedly and suddenly in the night. She was just 10 weeks old. Maisy had died of sudden infant death syndrome.

As a family we have always celebrated Maisy's birthday and on the anniversary of her death, Emma struggles through what is always the worst day of her year. This year, on what will be the 26th anniversary of Maisy's death, Emma and Peggy are going to run the London Marathon to raise money for the Lullaby Trust and just two weeks before, Betty will be running her first Half Marathon to also raise money for the Lullaby Trust.

The Lullaby Trust is a charity that saves babies' lives and supports bereaved families. Around 3 babies a week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), The Lullaby Trust is committed to bringing that number down to zero.

Maisy's life and death changed our lives immeasurably. We think about her - and what sort of person she would have grown up to be. Emma was lucky enough to go on and have 3 wonderful children, but nothing will ever replace her. She will always be Emma's first born child. Her beautiful little girl. Emma is so grateful for every hour of the 10 weeks they shared. She made her the mother she is now, and she taught all of us how to appreciate every single moment of every day.

We will be raising awareness and funds that will be helping grieving families to receive specialist help, funding research to prevent more babies from dying suddenly and unexpectedly, and allowing more parents to receive advice on safer baby sleep.
