Story
You know my story...2014 started well with my amazing achievement of singing at the Royal Albert Hall in the War Horse Prom alongside fellow military wives (& Gareth Malone tagged along too...) - but little did I know what was lurking.
Diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2014, there followed surgery, 6 cycles of chemo & radiotherapy (I had less sessions than normal but I just got lucky as that was part of the trial I signed up for!), too many to count blood tests, injections, pills...Further preventative surgery a couple of years later & I'm still taking the pills...
Life is now divided into BC & AC (before & after in case you're wondering)...I have made some amazing friendships along the way & don't know where I'd be without my tribe of BBBs...Breast Cancer Care run Younger Women Together events where I finally got to meet my 'chemo twin' who I'd been chatting with online for ages...sadly I never got to see her again. She's not the first our tribe have lost...
I'm doing The Show as you only live once & need to grab every opportunity. I'll be walking that catwalk (hopefully without tripping up!) for all my family & friends who have come into contact with breast cancer - especially one of our tribe who should have strutted her stuff last year at The Show but never made it. Kim - this one's for you xxx
