Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I am a Lottery Promotions Officer for St David's Hospice which I love!
St David's is a local charity providing free hospice care to adults from across North West Wales with advanced illnesses and those in the need of end of life care.
To raise funds for this fantastic charity, I will be lacing up walking boots, packing my bags and taking part in the St David's Hospice Great Wall of China Challenge 2020.
The nine-day trekking challenge will see me trying to conquer the twists and turns of one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Every step I take will be in memory of my mum Sandra, who sadly passed away two years ago.
My mum had COPD for many years, a lung condition that causes breathing difficulties. Our family saw first hand the difference St David's Hospice can make.
She attended weekly Fatigue, Anxiety and Breathlessness (F.A.B) sessions which were held at the Hospice. The therapy-led service is aimed at improving the quality of life of people suffering as a result of their illness.
Mum went to the sessions for a couple of months and was able to manage her breathing more effectively and regain a sense of control. She was so grateful for their care, support and practical advice.
All of the services at the Hospice, including mum's F.A.B sessions, are free of charge. St David's Hospice needs to raise more than £4 million every year to continue to provide their care.
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference to the care and support they offer to patients and their families.
If making a donation and you are a tax payer, don't forget to choose the gift aid option which means for every £1 donated and extra 25p comes to the hospice.
Wish me luck! Thanks for your support. Bev x
