24 peaks, 36 hours, 24 trees · 16 October 2021

Our new almshouse in Bermondsey will provide 59 stunning homes for older people from Southwark. Designed by one of Britain's most exciting architects, it will provide truly affordable and safe homes for life, with community spaces and gardens for all

Story

Beyond’s 2021 fund raising challenge is nearly here. The team are feeling invigorated post pandemic to put all our training into action and attempt to transverse 24 of the highest peaks in the Lake District over 36 hours camping over night in bivvy bags.

This year we have decided to support a charity close to our hearts. Three years ago when Marcus and I launched Beyond, we were working with United St Saviours to unlock their dream to develop a new Almshouse in Bermondsey. This remarkable project not only delivers much needed affordable homes for older people but goes much deeper by creating a place and community that gives purpose and a sense of security to the people that live there.

We are keen to raise funds to help United St. Saviours to fit out key parts of the garden and community spaces. A small donation will go along way to bringing this place to life.

In recognition of each peak climbed, Beyond also intends to plant 24 trees as a small contribution to protecting our planet!
