On the 16th July I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The last couple of months tested me both mentally and physically but the support I received from my family, friends and Emily was amazing.
Im taking on this challenge to hopefully bring more awareness around the fact that testicular cancer doesn't matter about your age, fitness or race it can effect all males. Every male should be checking regularly and not be afraid or embarrassed to go to their GP.
On the 1st August I had my operation and the recovery was very challenging, involving split stitches and trips to a Portuguese hospital plus many blood tests and scans. It tested my mental strength to the max and it's true what they say. In times of need you find out who is there for you.
To all males out there, please check on a regular basis and if anything doesn't seem right then go to your GP.
On the 3rd of September I received the news that I'd been hoping for and was given the all clear!!! 🙌💙
I have chosen to take on this challenge for a number of reasons, I feel there isn't much out there for those directly affected by testicular cancer and not enough men talking about their health. We are on a mission to raise around £3,000 in aid of Baggy Trousers UK to help continue the life saving work and secondly share his personal experience with testicular cancer in the hope of raising awareness to encourage males to check themselves on a regular basis.
