Story

On the 20th of March the sad news broke that Peter Lorimer had passed away. To a lot of people, and rightly so, Peter was a legend of football and an all-round nice guy, but to me as well as being a legend, he was my uncle and since his passing, the only thing I have read or heard are kind words and fantastic stories from people around the world. All of your kind words have given my Auntie Sue (Peter’s wife) a lot of comfort at this very sad time. Many people have very fond memories of Peter and these memories will be cherished forever.

Peter’s contribution to Leeds will live on for a very long time and his death has left another huge hole in the Leeds United family. He will always be a club icon and his all-time goal scoring record of 238 goals in 705 appearances will be hard to beat.

Peter spent his final weeks in the Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice and as a family we were in awe of the fantastic staff, each and every one of them! The care and compassion given to both Peter and Sue was second to none.

As we all know, the world came to a grinding halt last year and fundraising events around the country could not take place. With Wheatfields being a charity run hospice and as a way of thanking them for caring for Peter, myself and Andy Jackson are going to try to raise some money for Wheatfields to say a huge thank you for everything they did for Peter and Sue.

Any donations big or small will be gratefully received and both Andy and I would like to say a huge thank you in advance.

We will be
