Story
Like many other charities, RAFA have been hard hit by the closure of pubs and shops and cashless payments all resulting in a lack of spare change being dropped in the charity boxes. The cancellation of many 2020/21 events like the Great North Run and London Marathon made this even worse.
Throughout this time RAFA have been doing wonderful work assisting serving and former RAF personnel and their families, especially with financial and mental health issues made worse by the pandemic.
I volunteered with RAFA to help deliver shopping and essentials to housebound / shielding veterans during the first lockdown, and although I didn't receive any taskings it opened my eyes to some of the under the radar work being undertaken by the charity.
Please help me achieve my target of racing £300 for RAFA by sponsoring me for the run. I'm setting off at 09:55 which is only ten mins behind the elite runners so keep an eye out for the middle aged baldy fella with a RAFA t shirt on!
Cheers - Brad.
