Story
On this day, 29th January, last year, my younger sister Una was heading out for an evening with friends but unfortunately was involved in an accident in which she was knocked over by a car. She sustained considerable fractures to her leg and right hand and was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.
Initially she was bed bound and was completely dependent on staff. The trauma team were wonderful, attended to her every need and provided crucial support. After operations on her leg and hand, they helped her to walk with a crutch. Una has made great progress over the last year with the much needed guidance, wisdom and encouragement from consultants and physiotherapists, and loving support from family & friends.
Una really wanted to do something positive to mark today, the progress she has made and to give back to the medical team that helped her. And so today we walked a 10 Mile Sponsored Walk along the River Lea in Tottenham, to raise funds for the orthopaedics (trauma related) ward & all orthopaedic departments at the Royal London Hospital.
If you would like to sponsor us - Brenda and Richard / Una's team -anything is appreciated - that would be wonderful!
