Story
I was diagnosed with a type of non-hodgkin lymphoma (follicular) in February 2021 and started treatment in July 2022 (Chemo and antibody therapy).
When I was first diagnosed I was in shock and didn't quite believe this was happening to me, my first appointment with the consultant and clinical nurse specialist was strange, the Country was at the mercy of the covid pandemic and I'm being told I've got cancer and it's not curable.
I was informed I would be on active monitoring until my lymphoma became troublesome and then treatment options would be discussed, I was handed a booklet (Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) by the CNS who told me about Lymphoma Action.
The time between being diagnosed and starting my treatment Lymphoma Action has helped me in coping and understanding my condition, it's also given me some hope for the future along with my family and friends.
I started my treatment in July 2022, 6 cycles over 6 months, with September being 'Blood Cancer Awareness Month' I have decided to take on a small challenge, which is to bake 27 muffins and sell them on the 27th September for £2.00 each to family and friends.
If you would like to help me and Lymphoma Action, then please donate.
Also, my thanks goes to all my care team, they are all fabulous and of course Lymphoma Action who are only a click away.
