Story
Save the Sound is an incredible environmental organization that fights climate change, saves endangered lands, protects the Sound and its rivers, and works with nature to restore ecosystems.
I first learned about Save the Sound in 2006 while paddling in Kayak for a Cause - a fundraiser that raised support for NY and CT area charities. During the event, we paddled 12 miles across Long Island Sound - from Norwalk CT to Northport, Long Island. (We even broke a Guinness Book record for most sea kayaks launched simultaneously!)
While I won't be crossing Long Island Sound this year, I will be paddling as far as I can between July 29-August 6th (weather and work permitting!).
Thanks so much for supporting the paddle and helping preserve the New York and Connecticut coastline.
Cheers,
Brian
