Why I am doing this - Finn 

I'm pictured above with my dear friend Finn Lowery in 2018. Finn is one of the kindest, smartest, and toughest men I have ever known: top law school graduate, Rhodes Scholar, NZ's youngest national water polo captain, loving husband and loyal mate. Finn was always a role model as well as a friend. He still is.

Six months after this photo was taken, Finn lost his hard-fought battle with a major depressive disorder. 

I want to raise as much money as possible for a charity that helps thousands of people like Finn every year.

The Trek

In November 2022 I will take on the forests and frozen landscapes of Iceland. Myself and 9 colleagues will be trekking over snowy and uneven terrain for up to 7 hours per day, with temperatures between -2 to -5c, all in aid of the mental health charity, Mind.

Golf Days, Pub Quizzes, Fight Night

The trek will be the final act of 6 months of fundraising. I have organised corporate sports events, pub quiz nights, and charity auctions. I've even put my facial hair on the line for Mind.

On October 20th I will step into the ring for the biggest challenge of the year - my first fight under the lights. Juggling work with early mornings and evenings in  boxing gyms, as well as being a husband and father, has been a real battle. I am so grateful for all the support from friends, family, and colleagues. I have a ready source of motivation in the memory of Finn whenever I need it (usually in the moments after an early alarm clock, or after a sparring round that hasn't gone my way - there are many).
