KEEPTHEBEAT is a charity established to provide hope and support to the families affected by congenital heart defects. The Charity will have a particular interest in Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, but over time we hope to develop and cover all CHD's.

Story

Having tragically lost beautiful boy Harvey in 2011 Karen and I were overwhelmed by the donations we received in his name at the time. With this money we were able to make some significant donations to local charities that had helped us in our time of need and also to charities that were primarily focused on helping children.

At this time  I found cycling as a release  and along with a few friends we undertook our first challenge in 2013 cycling 60+ miles off-road from London to Brighton raising money in the name of Zoe's hospice. This was followed up with a 250 mile ride from London to Paris in 2014. On both occasions we were humbled by the level of support we received.

This year some of us have joined up with the Keep the Beat cycling club to ride from Seascale in Cumbria on the West coast of England to Whitby on the East coast in one day raising money for the charity Keep the Beat. This is a significant challenge of over 148 miles, 4500 meters  of climbing through the Lake District and Moors which most people undertake over 2-3 days.

The charity is a local to us and was started by a family who's son was born with a heart defect. It was established to provide hope and support to families affected by congenital heart defects.

It certainly means a lot to Karen and I that we can continue to support local charities and we appreciate any support you can give.
