Bryony’s Story
Bryony Louise Meecham was born on 13th November 1992, she was the youngest daughter but was definitely the loudest. That didn’t change throughout adolescence and into her teenage years. Bryony always said exactly what she was thinking which meant you always knew where you stood with her. Whilst she could be quite stubborn at times she had the biggest heart and would always try and help anyone if she could. She had Many passions and always threw herself into everything she did. She was particularly good at baking and always baking something yummy.
When she left school she got a job in morrisons where she met the love of her life, Marcus. They eventually got married and welcomed their first child together not long after. Carly Louise was born in 2016, It was clear that Bryony was made to be a mother, she absolutely doted on her daughter. They were often seen at library rhyme tymes or at the park. On the 18th March 2021 after years of heartache she welcomed her second daughter Matilda May, Bryony and Marcus were over the moon, Matilda was very much like Bryony herself as a baby and very loud ,however Bryony took this in her stride and just relished being a mother. Matilda was only a couple of months old when Bryony fell pregnant with her final daughter, Tiffany was born on 31st March 2022. Both Bryony and Marcus were so in love and were so happy as they felt that their family was complete.
The week following Tiffany’s birth Bryony began experiencing headache but put it down to not getting a lot of sleep. When mentioning to her family she said she would mention it to the health Visiter. Bryony woke up the next morning in the early hours very confused, she was rushed to Bath RUH and then transferred to Bristol Southmead ICU where she was put into a coma. Bryony had developed a blood clot on the brain that was life threatening. The Drs and Nurses did everything, Bryony fought hard but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.
On 19th April 2022 Bryony passed away. My beautiful sister was gone and she will be so missed by so many people. Not only was she an incredible wife and mother but she was a loving daughter sister and doting auntie. She touched so many lives, even of the doctors and nurses within the ICU and her legacy will live on in her daughters.
I am raising money for Bristol Southmead ICU as the work they did to try and help save my sister and the after Care have been amazing, even down to making little memory boxes containing Bryony’s handprints, ECG and lock of hair for each of Babies so they have something to remember her by and They spoke to her eldest Carly in a way to help her understand what had happened.
Loosing my little sister is the hardest thing that has ever happened to our family, but if we can make something good from this it would honour her memory so please donate if you can 💕
