Every day, seven people from across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and beyond will find themselves in need of immediate, critical care from the expert team at Southmead Hospitals ICU.

Our ICU is one of the busiest in the country, treating critically ill patients for a huge range of complex illnesses and injuries. Throughout the pandemic, the staff that make up the ICU team have been absolutely vital in Bristols fight against Covid-19.

Spending time in the ICU can have a profound and lasting effect on both patients and families. Sadly, some people are too poorly to recover. The care and support patients and their families receive often mean that many choose to give back to the unit as a way of saying thank you.

Your generosity will allow us to support projects that benefit the 2,600 patients who are admitted to the ICU each year, or provide support to their families during such emotionally challenging times.
