Thanks for taking the time to visit my daughters just giving page
Sapphire Tatum is a typical 5 year old shes always running around she's started gymnastics and swimming lessons and is always so happy, however it was a stressful time with Sapphire when she was a baby, she was born with a rare type of Spina Bifida. Sapphire had a low lying dermal tract and tethered cord and we was warned she may never walk we was also warned that every time Sapphire was poorly she had to be seen by a doctor as due to having an indentation on her back she was a higher risk to meningitis at a few months old we thought Sapphire was suffering with reflux and after constant visits to the doctors she was finally referred to hospital at QA she was then transferred to Southampton by ambulance with possible septicaemia
Thankfully the team at Southampton worked their magic and our poorly girl was soon on the mend, Sapphire had surgery on her spine at 7 months old and almost instantly she started sitting up on her own, Sapphire is also hyper mobile so when she started to walk although she fell a lot more than most youngsters never gave up, we have been warned the possibility of Sapphire still having problems during growth spurts and she could still end up in a wheel chair, because her symptoms are unknown it's a case of wait and see, lots of hospital check ups and she will need more MRI's which she has to be put to sleep for.
Because of Sapphires frequent visits to hospital when she asked for her hair to be cut we spoke to her about the little Princess Trust and making a little girl or boy smile, Sapphire is very excited about doing this and had a very grown up answer when she told us her hair would grow again.
