Story
I'm getting my backside into gear and doing the Kiltwalk Big Stroll from Clydebank to Balloch on Sun 27th April 2025. I'm supporting Social Bite and the movement to end homelessness. I'm doing this with a group of STEM people as a way to also think about wellness at work and how managing stress is important to our ability to communicate, socialise and network. If you are feeling down, getting out is often the last thing you want to do, but doing it can help.
Social Bite are a charity and social business providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people experiencing homelessness to transform their own lives. Social Bite believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home, that a job can be truly transformative for someone who has experienced homelessness, and that food is one of the most powerful tools to help signpost people to access support.
This is hugely important to me - how can anyone managed to get on their feet in a new place, or after a change in circumstance if they don't have a safe place to sleep, a chance of proper food? A Housing First approach makes a difference in Scotland and Social Bite are a significant part of that network helping people find their strength to overcome the battles life places them in.
Any donation to support my fundraising would be greatly appreciated.
