Story
In June I looked into the challenge of running the London Marathon 2018. I applied to Make A Wish for one of their charity places and have recently found out that I got a place in their team!
I chose the Make A Wish team to run for as I think that their work is invaluable! Make A Wish are a non profit organisation which sets out to give children who have life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to literally make their dreams come true! This ranges from having a day trip out to meeting their favourite celebrity to going on a holiday of a lifetime.
One thing that really struck me about Make A Wish is that they will never turn down a wish. During possibly the hardest time that a child will have to face this charity gives them the hope, opportunity for fun and excitement that they really need.
I have seen the work that Make A Wish carry out and impact it has on the children who are ill but also the families and closest loved ones.
Personally, this will be a massive challenge for myself as currently I don't run, at all. The amount of training I am going to have to do to build up the stamina and fitness I am going to need is crazy.
Your donations, as small or as much, will be so encouraging and will make such a difference for this amazing charity. Throughout this next year I will be training and fundraising and I will keep updating everyone on how it is going.
