Story
So a few years have passed without a challenge. Time for the John O' Groats to Lands End sequel…
Maybe a little ambitious, but we don’t do easy. From the 28th March 2012, we will be enduring another "no mercy" challenge, cycling from Cape Wrath (Most north westerly point of UK mainland) to Dover (most south westerly) in aid of Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP). TVAP, a charity in Maidenhead, providing an adventure playground and educational services for people of all ages with both physical and learning disabilities living in the Thames Valley area. Last year over 13,650 visits were made to the adventure playground by children and adults with all types of special needs.
We took a while trying to decide who would be a worthy cause for such a large amount of money, and a friend suggested TVAP. Only 8% of their income is funded by the government, which means they primarily rely on donations to source £300,000 for equipment and services that are so beneficial to a wide and varied client base. After looking on their website (http://www.tvap.co.uk) the decision was made and the challenge was set!!
Cape Wrath to Dover – 980 miles; just the 4 of us; 4 bikes and a whole load of luggage. With no support van, road bikes or sanity, we need all the support we can get in order to raise £4000.
Please take the time to visit TVAP’s website and discover the life changing services they provide. You can also contact Jason and Damian via email:
