Story
For those that know me, you will know how much I adore my high heels…how much I like (or need!!) my make-up…how much I appreciate my hair straighteners… and even more so, how much I love my sleep…
So let’s face facts…walking 62 miles (100km) from London to Brighton on 25 & 26 May 2013, for up to 30 hours, through the night, in walking boots, with head torches and backpacks, really isn’t anywhere within my comfort zone!!
However, if it is all in the name of charity, then it’s got to be worth the pain (…and the blisters…and the cold…and the tiredness, and the training…and the…need I go on?!)!
I’m walking/limping/hobbling/crawling to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society – a charity that is very close to my heart. Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers and they do some fantastic work.
The ‘Hort Steppers’ (sung to the tune of ‘Here comes the Hotstepper’ by Ini Kamoze!!) is a team of determined, brave and courageous (or some may say stupid) employees from the HTA who are going to support each other through this ‘experience’ and try to make a difference…but we really need your help…
So, please dig deep to support a fantastic charity and to help support me through this challenge!
