Story
This October, we are taking on the Walk One Mile a Day challenge to raise vital funds for lung cancer support and research. Luckily, we are more than capable of walking 1 mile so we are going to Walk 10,000 Steps each a Day.
In May this year, Mam shared with us she had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Obviously we were and still are absolutely devastated. Mam is the rock of our family, the one we all go to, the one we all have a laugh with, the one one we all love. We have been told it is incurable but treatable and she has been lucky enough to have treatment which will hopefully, allow us to spend many more years together making many more memories.
Mam has undergone 4 rounds of Chemotherapy and is close to finishing her 20 sessions of Radiotherapy which have taken its toll on her. She has been so poorly, some days not able to get out of bed, it’s been bloody shit. Cancer is f*~king horrible.
If any of you want to join us to get out steps in, please just message and we can have a catch up at the same time.
If you can donate, believe us, it will be totally appreciated and together we can say F*^k You Cancer!
The money raised through this challenge will help fund life-saving research, provide comfort and care to patients, and ensure no one has to face this disease alone. I’m not doing this to hit a fitness goal — I’m doing it to make a difference. I’m walking for those who can’t, and for the hope of a better future.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a world where lung cancer is caught earlier, treated more gently, and survived more often. Let’s make every mile in October matter. Together, we can walk toward change.
