Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Having two children of our own, we realise how much of an important charity this is to have in our region. Children North East is our regions largest independent charity supporting children, young people and families in many difficult situations. Children North East are committed to supporting families and children who are living in poverty, are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless; children and young people that are being taken into care due to alcohol, drug abuse or domestic violence within their family. Children North East also support children and families who find themselves struggling with issues like depression, dept, isolation, self esteem, mental health issues, sexual health, housing, unemployment, training and education, etc. There is also support for primary school children who maybe under achieving in a school setting; they work to recognise and encourage the roles of fathers and male carers in the life of a family and encourage the role of men in childcare. I feel so strongly about helping these children that I have been volunteering on the fundraising team at Children North East. These families and children could very well be people we know and deserve all the help and support we can give them. Michael has done the blaydon race once and this is my very first run so we are complete novices. We are so dedicated that we have taken to training on our holidays which is also something we would have never dreamt of doing before.
