Story
It's not often that a trip to the dentist results in agreeing to bike 140 miles. Maybe it was the drill or the fact that my mouth was full but I suddenly became an honorary member of Elland Ladies Circle Coast to Coast bike ride team. There are 16 people doing it - of which only 3 are women so it's obviously an 'interesting' group. We are doing the Coast to Coast bike ride over 3 days on a variety of roads and bridleways - not the full on hard core mountain bike route - saving that for another year!. I have been putting in the miles in preparation so my legs and bottom are ready!
The charity we are supporting is the MS Society. Multiple Sclerosis is a devastating condition where the body's own immune system damages the delicate coverings of nerve fibres. It is the most common disabling neurological disease among young adults and affects around 100,000 people in the UK. MS is most often diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40, and women are almost twice as likely to develop it as men
Multiple Sclerosis has a particular resonance for me as my aunt and a close family friend have Multiple Sclerosis. I have witnessed first hand the impact this condition can have on the person and their family. I am extremely grateful if you feel able to support me and the MS Society. Thank you.
