Miles For Smiles · 10 September 2012

Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.

Story

On 10th September 2012 we're setting off from John O'Groats to Land's End as part of our company, Castleoak's pledge to raise £100,000 for Ty Hafan, the Welsh Children's Hospice.

Ty Hafan is not part of the NHS and receives little statutory funding, relying on public and corporate contributions to the £3 million needed every year to provide care and support to life-limited children and their families.

Our eight-strong relay team includes:

- Paul Stephens, Chief Operating Officer

- Steve Rickard, Development Manager

- Paul Mannings, Project Director

- Chris Roberts, Project Director

- Stephen Evans, Estimator

- Heath Reynolds, Project Surveyor

- Nick Higgins, Development Manager

- Tom Mountain, Graduate Construction Manager

We will each be cycling 60 to 70 miles a day, split over three to four sessions, taking 12 to 14 hours - and here's the itinerary:

Mon 10 Sept 2012= 120 miles from John O'Groats to Inverness

Tue 11 Sept 2012 = 175 miles from Inverness to Glasgow

Wed 12 Sept 2012 = 175 miles from Glasgow to Lancaster

Thurs 13 Sept 2012 = 195 miles from Lancaster to Tewkesbury

Fri 14 Sept 2012 = 170 miles from Tewkesbury to Bude

Sat 15 Sept 2012 = 85 miles from Bude to Land's End

Thanks so much for supporting us because every donation gets us a step closer to our target on behalf of such a worthwhile cause.
