Bury Hospice does 'Strictly come Dancing' as 34 contestants gear up for the dance challenge of their life. Each will spend 12 weeks learning new dances to be performed in front of a live audience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This August we will be celebrating our Silver Wedding anniversary. We have been blessed with a beautiful family and are so appreciative of all that we have. Instead of having a party and/or receiving gifts for our silver wedding we decided we wanted to raise as much money as possible for Bury Hospice to help local families during their most difficult times.

To try and encourage people to part with their hard earned cash to support us we have well and truly stepped out of our comfort zone! Those who know us well will appreciate that the thought of us entering a ballroom dancing competition, head to toe in glitter, lycra and sequins, is both hilarious and terrifying! We are both absolutely clueless when it comes to dancing and the thought of having to dance in front of a hall full of people makes us feel sick! However, we have both sadly lost very close family members and in their memory we are going to throw ourselves into this to raise as much as we can to enable the Hospice to continue to support families in their hour of need.

As a family we are also committing to the following in case any of you don’t think the challenge of Strictly is enough for you to donate...

Lucy and Rachel alongside their boyfriends Callam and Greg are participating in the Tough Mudder event at Heaton Park on the 11th August.

Alistair is going to offer portrait photography in exchange for a donation and Cath is going to attempt to ‘walk 500 miles’ for Bury Hospice before the Strictly event on the 1st December.

We would really appreciate any donations you are able to make to help us support the Hospice.

Many thanks,

Cath & Al xx
