I am raising money for Bowel and Cancer Research by participating in the 2013 Virgin London Marathon. The charity is of particular importance to me as my husband works for Professor Norman Williams who founded this charity. Not only does the charity fund pioneering research into causes and treatment of bowel cancer but also develops new surgical approaches aimimg to improve the quality of life of patients with bowel cancer.  

Bowel cancer is the second most common cause use of cancer death in the UK claiming a life every half an hour. If it is caught early enough, the prognosis is good for around 90% of patients. 

I plan to raise money by baking and organising children's art activity classes.
