Story

The Catmose Cavaliers 5-a-side team will be tackling a 5k Inflatable Obstacle Course at Peterborough Showground on 24 March.

We’re doing it to raise money for two charities that are important to us a team for various reasons.

The ACT for SMA fund is committed to supporting families affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy, also known as SMA, Type 1. Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a neuromuscular genetic disease that results in progressive muscle weakness.

The charity aims to protect and promote the physical and mental health of sufferers of Spinal Muscular Atrophy and their families across the United Kingdom, through the provision of support, education and practical advice and funding into research into the condition.

Also to advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

The other charity we’re raising money for is The Georgie B fund - inspired by George Burgess to help CCLG fund research into childhood cancer. To make a donation to that fund, please visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/CatmoseCavaliers
