Ukraine has faced almost eight years of conflict. With recent events, we want to be there for everyone who needs us

Story

We are raising money to help the people of Ukraine

At least two million Ukrainians have fled their homes to escape conflict, and now face an uncertain future. Lives have been lost and homes have been destroyed. Healthcare, hospitals, and other key emergency services have been affected, and vital services such as water, electricity, and phone connectivity have been damaged. Many people face immediate crisis without basic supplies such as food and water.

Central Swindon North Parish Council stands with the people of Ukraine in their hour of need. To support them, we’re asking you to make a donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to help provide aid for families fleeing the conflict.

Your donation will help by:

  • Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines
  • Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Supporting fire fighters and civil protection units
  • Training people up in life-saving first aid
  • Helping families stay in contact with each other
  • Educating people on the risks of explosives
  • Repairing vital infrastructure
  • Helping to repair homes, healthcare centres,
    schools and community centres

How your donation can support the millions of Ukrainians
affected by the war.

  • £10 could provide a hygiene kit to a family of five, giving them supplies to stay healthy for a month
  • £20 could provide five blankets to families taking shelter
  • £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
  • £33 could provide 40 chlorine tablets to ensure that families have access to clean, safe water
  • £50 could provide blankets for four families £100 could provide sleeping mats for 66 people who have been forced from their homes
  • £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
  • £210 could provide a fully equipped first aid kit, including supplies, to a first aider treating those wounded

Funds raised will go straight to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and will be used to support the people of Ukraine. To find out more about how your donation will help, please visit the DEC webpage at https://www.dec.org.uk/article/ukraine-how-donations-are-helping

Any donation you can make is valuable, very much appreciated, and will directly help Ukrainians sadly affected by the conflict. Thank you for your generosity.
