I have supported the Brooke for years for the outstanding work they do in providing animal welfare to working horses, donkeys and mules in developing countries.  Around the world equines are still used in pits & to carry heavy loads, most often in extreme temperatures with little access to veterinary care.  Animals are worked to exhaustion and in pain and this is very often because the humans who rely on them are not aware of even the basics of care the horses require. The Brooke works with humans to educate them on matters such as spotting signs of illness and injury and the fundaments of welfare and care and therefore further promotes animal welfare.   Having studied veterinary physiotherapy, I know too well that horses will disguise illness and injury and so without advocates willing to support their care they remain incredibly vulnerable. 

By donating you are helping to ensure that the Brooke can carry on providing the necessary intervention for both humans and animals.  I will train to run 26 miles in April 2019 and will encounter pain and exhaustion at times but this was 1) my choice and 2) nothing like the experiences of the working horses I am running for.  Please if you can, help me to help them.  You can text HORS74 followed by an amount in £ to 70070 or you can donate via this page.
