Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Challenge Unknown is just that, you set my challenge! For every £1 donated through the page I pledge to walk or run 1km, simple really. Except my target is £7000, equivalent to 20km a day, why well that is what the team needs each year to keep running. 2020 has seen the team lose many of the revenue streams of previous years and I intend on making sure the team are strong going in to 2021. As the money is the teams costs for the year I am making this a 12 month challenge, updating at the end of each week.

How mean do you feel? This is what I like about this idea, the meaner you are to be the more generous you are to the team! I am not unfit but certainly not a pro athlete, and 20km a day sounds like a nightmare! Along side my voluntary work with the team I am a goat farmer so have a pretty active and busy day but not that active!

Northamptonshire Search and Rescue have been part of my life for almost 4 years now. I am a team leader and dog handler for them as well as vice chair. As a team we get around 40 calls a year to support the police looking for high risk missing persons with our specialist skills, to support the level of professionalism we need to do this we also have a complex training program running throughout the year. On average we train 10 hours for every 1 hour searching. This is on top of maintaining kit and fundraising!
