Professional Cricketers’ Trust Headingley to Lord’s Bike Ride 2021 · 14 October 2021 to 17 October 2021 ·

Join current and former professional cricketers to cycle from Headingley to Lords and raise much-needed funds for the Professional Cricketers' Trust.

Story

Originally planned as a charity ride from Paris to London, COVID has meant that the route has been shifted from Yorkshire to London, covering almost 300 miles over 3 days.

Notorious for glorious autumn weather, 3 days cycling into the prevailing wind should be made more palatable by the fact we are raising funds for a fantastic charity.

With an Ironman event delayed because of COVID, taking on a cycling challenge with friends for such a great cause, felt like an appropriate way to repurpose training for good.

Whilst COVID has impacted this ride, it's had a significantly more material impact on charities and their ability to raise funds and complete their valuable work.

The Professional Cricketers' Trust has faced an estimated fundraising shortfall of £200,000 in 2020 due to COVID-19, a huge blow to a small charity that funds life-changing medical assistance, crisis helplines, mental health support and provides assistance through welfare, education and support during difficult times.
