Story
Bonjour!!!
On the 11th June 2008 I will be cycling from London to Paris with Rob and Olly. Yes we are crazy and yes it is quite a long way - 450km to be precise. The money I raise will go to Katharine House Hospice in Oxfordshire and the Macmillan nurses. So please, please give generously, if not for this fantastic charity then for my extremely sore derriere!!!
The main aim of the hospice palliative care service is to support those people with life-threatening illnesses whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. Their aim is to maintain quality of life and for patients to remain in their own homes where possible or requested. Patients can be referred immediately after diagnosis or at a later stage in the illness.
Macmillan Nurses are specialists in supporting patients and families facing illnesses such as cancer. They work as part of the health care team to ensure that the quality of life for patients and families is enhanced. They are specially trained to offer advice on pain and symptom control, and also offer emotional support for the patient and family within their own homes.
My employers, WIN, have very generously donated £200 to kick things off but that does not mean my colleagues get off that lightly. Thanks WIN!!!
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.
BIG thanks
Charlie
