Story
Our Cheeky little monkey Charlie was referred to GOSH at just 10 weeks old after he started having seizures.
This amazing little boy, now aged 4 years old has undergone numerous tests, procedures and hospital visits over the years to see if the malformation on his Occipital cortex that causes his Epilepsy is able to be operated on to stop his seizures.
On the 1st November this year Charlie underwent a TOP disconnection of the brain performed by the expert team at GOSH, the operation went successfully and now it is a waiting game to see if it worked?
The operation was long and took a massive toll on Charlie's little body, however the expert care and attention we received from all the nurses on the HDU and Koala ward was second to none! These girls were amazing and really put our minds at ease, you could see that they really did genuinely care for your child which was so reassuring!
Charlie's road to recovery is uncertain, and we do not know what the future holds for him, but one thing is for sure...... Without this phenomenal hospital and all the team who work there, we would not be able to give our little soldier the chance of being seizure free!
