Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are not runners and have never completed a running charity event before, but we wanted to complete a challenge and all felt passionately about raising money for Rosie to Support her rehabilitation. We will all be running the Hampton Court half marathon on Sunday 18th March 2018.
Essex born Rosie is aged just 5. Born a healthy & happy little girl at 2 she was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle disease. Her only hope of survival, a heart transplant. At 3 she suffered a cardiac arrest requiring CPR resulting in Rosie going on the urgent transplant list. Rosie had a mechanical heart attached in February 2016. This caused 2 brain bleeds required emergency craniotomies and multiple strokes.
Thanks to a selfless family, a donor was found and Rosie received a heart transplant in July 2016. The multiple strokes have caused severe brain damage, leaving Rosie with bilateral dystonic movement disorder and requiring intensive rehabilitation. Rosie is getting stronger every day, but is unable to sit or stand unaided, to eat or communicate.
Charlotte and Chantelle both work with Barry, Rosie's Dad who is a Store Manager for Morrisons. Morrisons are generously supporting this event with fund matching for the first £2,000 donated. This means every donation up to £2,000 will effectively be doubled.
We are delighted to update and say that we have also now a VERY generous private donor who as agreed to fund match all sponsorship from £2,000 to £4,000. This could see a whopping £8,000 raised for Rosie if we can get the donations from you kind and thoughtful donors to £4,000. Please please help us achieve this, all funds raised will support Rosie and go directly to the rehabilitation funds.
Thank you all - Charlotte, Chris, Clare & Chantelle. xxxx
