Story

We are In Charlton near Malmesbury, Wiltshire SN16 9DH and have a fantastic xmas display.

I have always loved Christmas since well forever, and I have always decorated my home with a few festive decorations but had never really thought of doing anything quite this big!

Our display is made up of over 100,000 lights has tripled in size over the last few years.

It takes three months for me and my brother to get ready, we have a team of electricians on call to help with anything from additional outside sockets to working out how to split the loads evenly.

Our display attracts visitors from across the county with many more choosing to donate online.

So why do I do it you may ask?

We lost mum at a young age to cancer which left me, my dad and my three brothers. My dad was so strong and helped all of us to cope with my mum passing despite his own heartache of losing his wife.

Dads attacks started becoming more regular soon after mum died and I’d never really seen them before as my mum was always there and between them I don’t think that they wanted to show us how serious they could be.

In 2009 a fatal epileptic attack ended my dad’s life.

We always had the best christmas’s at home and my dad always loved the decorations, so that’s really my motivation, every year to make my display bigger and better in an effort to raise money for Epilepsy Research UK and honour the memory of such a wonderful warm person who was the greatest dad, I know it will never bring him back, but it will help fund research into this debilitating condition.

All I ask is that if you come and see my lights PLEASE donate as much or as little as you can to Epilepsy Research UK.

We can all make a big difference.

Michaela
