Story
We don’t take walking for granted! My name is Chelsea and myself and my husband are raising money for Steps Charity. Both our children Arlo and Asher were born with a lower limb condition called congenital Talipes Equinovarus formally known as clubfoot.
They have both received treatment starting from age 3 weeks old consisting in physiotherapy, foot and leg casting treatments, a Tenotomy Operation and ongoing Boots and Bar brace treatment which is for a minimum of 5 years.
The first few years were very tough on our boys and it was emotionally challenging for us.
We are participating in a 10k Tough Mudder challenge to raise money for Steps Charity, to help other families and children get the support they need. Without this treatment our children may never have walked or have had difficulty walking and we are forever grateful.
Steps is the leading charity working for all those whose lives are affected by childhood lower limb conditions. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting individuals, families and carers affected by conditions which have an impact on the legs, hips or feet. We are the only charity which supports the most common and much rarer lower limb conditions.
