UPDATE 28/10/14
Mission complete! I made it across the line in 3 hours and 56 minutes and have exceeded my fundraising target thanks to lots of generous donations. Thanks so much for all the contributions so far and for all the good luck wishes. My fundraising page will stay open for a while yet so if you would like to donate it would be really appreciated, for all those people affected by and lost as a result of cancer.
Thanks again, Chiara x

On Monday, 27 October I'll be starting the week by running my first ever marathon for Cancer Research UK! So please spare some pennies towards this worthwhile cause.
It's been a hard few (4 or 5!) months of training. Running gear has been with me everywhere over the summer, precious hand luggage allowance sacrificed for trainers and Saturday mornings occupied by endless laps of Battersea Park!
Week 12 of the training plan was the Bacchus Half Marathon, it was a pretty treacherous and hilly route but I was one of the first women over the line so I'm hoping for a fairly speedy time on the big day. Any donations would really help spur me on! It will all be worth it if I can raise a bit of money for this great charity and help find treatments for a disease which effects so many people close to us all.
Thank you, Chiara xx
