Story
Dear All,
I hope you and your families are well in these crazy times.
I have decided to test myself physically and raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, and I'd really appreciate your support.
I'm fundraising for The Lewis Moody Foundation Please help support me as I take on this challenge to help those most in need.
Brain tumors are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. Lewis and Annie Moody set up The Lewis Moody Foundation to help families affected by brain tumors and with your help I hope to raise £5000 by surviving 10 days on an Amazon Survival course in Sept.
The Foundation funds Family Days in partnership with The Brain Tumour Charity; giving families a chance to escape the daily routines of medicine and hospital visits which put life on hold and create an overwhelming sense of worry and isolation. The Foundation also help to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of brain tumors in children and young people. Early diagnosis saves lives and can help prevent life limiting disabilities. The Lewis Moody Foundation relies 100% on voluntary donations so every penny really will make an incredible difference to those affected by brain tumours. #TackleBrainTumours

Trip details
Duration - 10 days
Departure 9th Sept 2022
- Trek and canoe through the Amazon - the ultimate way to explore the world's largest tropical rainforest
- Learn new survival skills from indigenous tribes; making shelters, hammocks and A- Frames, fires, foraging, fishing, navigation, tracking and traps
- Meet a local riverine community who will demonstrate how to produce food, catch and prepare fish and make canoes
- Experience three different ecologies, with their range of flora, fauna and wildlife, throughout your time in the Amazon
With temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius and 95% humidity, looking after yourself and your kit will be essential to survival. During the challenge you will discover more about this remarkable environment, gain new skills and experience how physically and psychologically challenging the rainforest can be. With a mixture of trekking many kilometres of dense jungle and canoeing the Amazon river, each day will take you on a steep learning curve.
As you start the challenge, the guides will be your life support, however, as new skills are learned, you will perform these duties and become a self-sufficient team of jungle survivors, setting up camp and preparing your meals each day.
Many thanks for viewing.
Keep safe and well.
Chief.
