Story
This is Ollie, he is my dear friend's nephew. He is a happy and cheeky chilled out boy who loves giving high fives!
---
In late November 2018 however, Ollies parents Gary and Lucy started to notice a change in him. He became a very sad child. He was unusually clingy and unsociable, he stopped enjoying the things he loved, and stopped eating. Physically, they noticed his skin becoming translucent and his stomach was also very swollen and his belly button bulged out.
After a long fight to discover what was wrong, including several days of testing and scans at Addenbrookes hospital it was finally confirmed on January 9th 2019 (just before his second birthday) that Ollie had stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma.
He had one tumour in his abdomen around one of his kidneys and another growing behind his right eye. The cancer had also spread to his bone marrow.
Since then he has undergone invasive and intensive treatment, including lots of rounds of chemotherapy, long hours of surgery, stem cell harvest, radiotherapy and numerous side effects from these treatments. He has endured countless blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, painkillers, antibiotics and much more. Ollie has continued to smile and be happy to play with his toys throughout.
---
Unfortunately neuroblastoma is very aggressive and even though Ollie went into remission, he relapsed two months ago. Ollie refuses to be beaten and has since completed three rounds of chemotherapy, and a recent tests showed that no active disease was found. He continues to fight and defy all the odds.
Ollie's family are raising funds in case Ollie needs to access further treatment not available on the NHS to either keep the cancer from returning or clear the disease if his frontline treatment doesn't go to plan. (Their aim is to raise £241,000 so Ollie can receive a clinical trial vaccine in New York.)

Therefore, to help them in their mission I will be having my head shaved on the 25th October. I am then hopefully donating the hair to The Little Princess Trust (charity who make wigs for children facing cancer.)
