At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.

Story

I'm cycling from Horsington to Portsmouth on 1st June and getting on a ferry to Ouistreham which arrives at 0630 on Tuesday 2nd.  From there I shall be cycling diagonally across France to the Alps where I hope to climb the 2700m Col du Galibier which is currently closed by snow but will, hopefully be open by 7th June. Once across the col I drop down to Briancon and carry on towards the Meditteranean climbing Mont Ventoux on the way. After a couple of days of relative R&R I will make my way back to Ouistreham by way of the Canal du Midi and Bordeaux before the final push through Normandy.  If all goes according to plan I shall cycle about 1800 miles in 25 days.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee who provide a rapid response to world-wide disasters, including, amongst others, Nepal and Syria. Every penny raised will go to the cause; I am meeting all my own expenses.
