London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Its time to build a better future for children with cancer. Join us and help build the new Childrens Cancer Centre at GOSH. Together we can run it. Together we can build it. Together we can help beat childhood cancer.

Story

It is that time of year again! This year we really do have a 4 person dragon. We've tried before and run as a 2 person dragon (following injuries). This year we have 4 fit'ish and healthy individuals (well actually two old plodders and two young gazelles) looking to raise £20,000 and, with a tail wind, break the Guinness World Record for a 4 person costume.

Why? Because Great Ormond Street Hospital is building a new Children's Cancer Unit to deliver breakthrough therapies and help children beat cancer, still the biggest killer of children between the ages of 1 and 14. The new centre is to cost £300m so this year we have decided to throw all we can at contributing to this world class and life changing facility.

We need your help! We will do the hard part (42km), we just need you to throw a few quid into the kitty and if enough of us do so, we will help this amazing cause.

I have already made it clear that if we beat the record of 4 hours and 3 mins and raise the money, this will be my fifth and final London Marathon. If not, who knows...

We'll do our best - please help us! £20,000 feels a long way off with only 4 weeks to go. Ready, steady go!
