Story
Lands End to Portsmouth 3 days 300 miles 5400m elevation (that's 4 times Ben Nevis) On August 20th five members of Southsea Nomads Rugby Club and two others including me are taking on the epic task of cycling from Lands End back to Portsmouth in aid of Rugby Against Cancer.
My good friend over one or two pints asked me if I fancied doing a charity event to support cancer. Of course I said yes and then a little later he told me that is was 300 miles in 3 days going up some extreme elevation. Lesson for me is ask before saying yes!!
That good friend Mike Westall (Also riding) sadly lost his wife last year to cancer. I know for him that rugby was his getaway in what was an extremely challenging, distressing and at times lonely period. This challenge although difficult is nothing compared to the battle that cancers suffers face daily and so would be awesome to raise as much money as possible as well as supporting rugby which is dear to Mike.
