My Son Thomas is currently being diagnosed with Autism. 

Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental disability that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person's social skills, communication, relationships, and self-regulation. 

People with Autism,  see, hear and feel the world differently to other people. If you have Autism, you have Autism for life; Autism is not an illness or disease and cannot be ‘cured’. 

Thomas is a loving, caring boy who loves his family and friends and loves his gaming and is a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. 

The Challenge

In 2019, I took part in the Ring of Fire 3 day ultra marathon. Unfortunately I didn't quite make half way that year. Since then my fitness and health has taken a hit but always wanted to see if i could attempt a long distance run again. 

So this year I have entered the Firelighter event (Day one only on the Ring of Fire) which is an ultra in itself at 35.7 miles (57.2km) on the 02/09/22. To add to this I will Also be taking part in the Virtual P24 on the 18/06/22 which involves me running at least a mile, every hour on the hour for 24 hours. 

The Charity

Space4Autism was set up by parents in 2005.  They are a voluntary run charity and support the whole family by running over 4000 activities per year for all ages living with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). For more information on the charity, please go to https://space4autism.com/
