Story
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?I’m taking on the 56 Miles in February challenge for PCR to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.
Three years ago at the age of 68, I saw a poster outside of Sainsbury's, Fosse Park, Leicester recommending men over fifty have a PCA blood test.
Although I had no symptoms, I asked my GP if I could have a blood test.
The results were positive .
After a biopsy, I was prescribed Decaptyl followed twenty eight sessions of radiotherapy several months later.
I'm still on three monthly hormone injections, have blood tests, which are followed by a telephone appointment with my oncologist every six months.
Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.Thank you for your support! 💙🧡
