Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you can see from my graduation photo in 2012 I was a little on the heavy side! I was so shocked by that picture I have decided to turn my life around, starting with walking and now running.
You may have guessed that in 2012 I was unlikely to be able to walk upstairs without getting out of breath let alone RUN 6 miles, so for me to consider entering an event like this is a massive step on the road to healthiness, although I still have a long way to go.
I would be grateful if you would like to support my run by donating a small amount of money to Help for Heroes. I have chosen this charity because I can't help but admire the bravery of the soldiers who put themselves in harms way in our name and their fortitude when they return with the most horrific injuries.
Many of you will have seen my constant (and probably annoying) updates from Runkeeper on Facebook. I use these because your comments and likes are motivation for me, but you will already be aware that I have already ran 10k on a number of occasions. The challenge from this event comes from the hilliness of the locality. Ingleby Barwick where I do my running is almost entirely flat. I am also hoping to break the sub 1 hour barrier. Something I have yet to do at this distance (I think). So if you would prefer you could sponsor me a nominal amount with a bonus amount should I finish in less than 59 min 59 sec as an extra motivation!
