I’m giving to this organization because I have a deep love for humanity and think that all children should grow up in a loving and supportive home. I am very family-oriented and would not be the person I am today without my family. Family is not simply biological. People say, “it takes a village to raise a child” and that could not be truer. SCC is a community-based care provider for Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties. It is truly amazing to see the community serve and support one another. About SCC: We provided 2,723 bed days at our youth shelter last year, a place for runaway teens who experience homelessness. Additionally, 1,700 children in our community are in foster care, which approximately 90% of those children exit our care to enter a permanent family placement.
