Thanks for your support!
I decided to register my dog for the Pets As Therapy Service, not only have I benefited dramatically from this, I have experienced how so many individuals for various reasons can also echo this.
There is a saying that 'Dogs are angels in disguise' and I truly believe that.
We regularly volunteer at care homes/hospices and I am able see the joy that she brings to those in need and could only imagine what opportunity and freedom a dog trained by DFG can offer.
Until my recent involvement with Dogs For Good, I was unaware of the extent of training, cost and time that was involved in the training of a single assistance dog for someone in need from puppy to adulthood.
I also did not fully comprehend how some dogs can dramatically change people’s lives once they enter them.
For these people, I know these dogs are their angels in disguise.
A quote from a 15-year old boy who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy "Elsie my dog has opened up a door for me in confidence, friendship, nature and happiness".
I have spent my whole life devoted to animals, especially dogs so this is a charity very close to my heart. I would love the opportunity to raise enough money to be able to fully fund (at the minimum) the training of a single puppy and knowing that my dedication has dramatically changed someone’s life.
